William & Beatrice Gorton
Hi, my name is Gordon Gorton, I live in Rowan Walk, Partington, I would like to introduce you to my family.
My Mother & Father started their family way back in 1933. They had twins - myself and my sister Adrienne were the eldest. Then came William, Beatrice, Barbara and Dorothy. Unfortunately Beatrice died when she was young and Barbara died in a car crash with her husband Liam Kelly on the 10.9.64.
My dad worked as a window cleaner up until he had to go into the armed forces because of the out break of the 2nd World War - he went into the Royal Artilary for six years.
You can imagine what a time my Mother had bringing up her children. She was a real hero, as we were always getting up to some sort of mischief, like setting a fire under the arm- chair, throwing the alarm clock down the toilet, going into peoples gardens and whipping the tops of the flowers -that was down to the twins (this brings back memories).
My mother didn't work before the war, she had enough to do with the children
and looking after her father.
And her Brother Albert.
