PARTINGTON PEOPLE & PLACES

Partington and Carrington are two small villages in the northwest of England. The River Mersey has always been the boundary between the counties of Lancashire and Cheshire and we have always been on the Cheshire side - or we were until Manchester Corporation built an overspill estate at Partington during the 1950's. Partington then became part of Greater Manchester and things started to change. The village ceased to be a village and became a small town as more and more people arrived.

Well that was 50 years ago and Partington is still an isolated community and at times we feel cut off from the rest of the world. But all is not doom and gloom for we have a fantastic community spirit and we are all very proud to be PARTONIONS.

We invite you to explore the pages and view the photos on this website and learn more about our villages and the people who live here.

If you would like to contact us (and we would be delighted if you did) send us an E-mail to partingtonpeople@aol.com

THANK YOU!
